Stenciled St. Patrick's Day Pillow

Ever since I saw this cute stamp Amy put on her crate, I've wanted to try designing one myself.  I finally got around to doing it for St. Patrick's Day. I didn't want it to look clean and crisp, so I added some "grunge" to the design to roughen it up a bit.
I cut out the decal out in vinyl and peel out the reverse image so I could stencil it with paint onto my canvas.
Sometimes it's a little tricky to get vinyl to stick to fabric, so here's a tip. Use a piece of transfer tape that has already been used or lightly rub a t-shirt on a new piece to remove some of the tackiness.
I used two shades of green, slightly mixed together and carefully painted over the vinyl.
After it had dried for about 5-7 minutes, I pulled up the vinyl.
I cut out two squares and sewed them into a pillow.
I kind-of love how it turned out.
Do you decorate for St. Patrick's Day or skip right to Spring or Easter?
Come back soon because I'll be sharing the free digital file (both the grungy and crisp versions) to create your own!

I absolutely love this pillow! What kind of cutter do you use? I seriously need to upgrade from my basic Cricut, but just don't know which one to choose. Pinning this one!
