I've been learning how to make my
digital cutter files available in different file formats, so I can share
them with you! Each Friday, I will post a link for a free file for your
digital cutter! The file will usually be from something I have created
earlier in the week, so you can see what it looks like cut and have an
example of a project you can make. Downloads will be available for two
weeks and are for personal use only. Link is at the bottom of the post.

This was a post from last Halloween, but since it is one of my favorite Halloween decorations, I thought I would post it again and share the digital file for the freebie this week.
I
brainstormed and searched online to come up with the street names
(aren't they clever?). I cut my pallet wood in half and cut an arrow
shape on one end. I didn't mark or measure because I wanted them to all
look different. I painted one coat on the front and left the edges to
finish later.
I made some stencils with my vinyl cutter,
painted,
removed,
and lightly sanded.
I
laid out them out on a painted 2" x 4", until I got them spaced and
angled the way I liked. I nailed them on with some old rusty nails. I
then took some very watered down black paint and quickly painted over
the front and edges and wiped most of it off with a wet paper towel. I
took it outside, stuck it in the dirt, and piled some rocks around it.
I love the colors and the fun Halloween fonts. This project was fun and so easy, when Halloween is over, I'm gonna make one for fall!
Come back later for the free digital file to create your own.

My jigsaw had been sitting in the closet for way too long, so I figured it was time to dust it off and make another project for my seasonal shelf.
I started by cutting an apple shape out of wood. For painting, I used the same technique as this project, but I antiqued them a little. I painted the base coat (1 part white and 1 part colored paint).

I can't believe how quick this week flew by! Since it's a new month, it's time to switch out the decor on my seasonal shelf. For September, I'm going with an apple theme. Here is one my projects that will be displayed.
This is a multi-color vinyl project and I thought I'd show how I applied each layer of vinyl.
After I removed the arrows and X's, I mixed some brown paint with this staining/antiquing medium and applied it to my board and then wiped most of it off.
It's very subtle, but helped to take away some of the brightness of the white paint.
