Painted Tote Bag

As I was cleaning a couple weeks ago, I found an old canvas tote bag my daughter was no longer using.  I had a little project in mind, so I talked her into giving it to me.  This is how it turned out.
I started by mixing my paint with different amounts of white until I had four colors that looked good.  Then, I taped off and painted the first two stripes.
After those had dried, I taped off the other two stripes and painted them.
I knew I wanted to add something decorative, so I made this fun swirl pattern and cut it out of heat press vinyl (love that stuff)!
So much cuter than the plain white bag.
Check back later for the free digital file of the decorative swirl.

So cool! I originally thought you had bleached out the white swirls but I love that it's a transfer. Just begging for a book, a bottle of water and a towel for a day spent reading on the beach.
