With teacher appreciation week coming so soon, I shifted my focus from laundry room projects to teacher projects. Since making my check your pocket sign last week, I kind-of had mason jars on my mind, so I came up with this little sign for the kids to give to their teachers.
I found a new distressing technique that I thought I would try. I am pretty happy with the results. I started with a plain board and painted it gray for my under color.
Their instructions say to rub Vaseline around the edges and anywhere you want the under color to peek through. I didn't have (or couldn't find) any Vaseline, so I used Neosporin instead. I think it works pretty much the same.
Then, I painted it white, let it dry completely, and gave it a quick sand.
I applied the vinyl quote and attached the mason jar.
Getting the flowers to school might be a problem, so I am thinking it would be cute to make pens with the silk flower on top.
This would also make a great end-of-year gift for any teacher!

Another lovely sign! I now look forward to Thursdays and Fridays when you share another great way that I can use my Silhouette.
I will definitely give the vaseline distressing technique a try. Does it leave any sort of residue on your sign once it's sanded?
How sweet is this! A great gift idea for all the teacher's in our lives! Love it!

What a beautiful sign, I know the teachers will love it. We also did a craft with mason jars and flowers for the teachers that I just posted about! I put the mason jars in a box so my daughter could carry them to her classrooms- I hope they made it!
