Here is a great laundry room project to collect the change, crayons, batteries, and other things that are pulled out of pockets before they are washed. I don't have any shelf space in my laundry area, so I decided to make something that could hang on the wall.
I started with a piece of scrap wood, it's pretty small, only 3.5" x 7.5". This wood was from a pallet so it was pretty rough. I sanded it down, especially around the edges.
Then, I painted it with one coat of paint. Once it was dry, I sanded it again, making sure I actually removed the paint around the edges and some on the front.
I watered down some gray paint, brushed it on and wiped it off with a paper towel.
Then, I applied my vinyl lettering
and attached a metal pipe clamp and a small mason jar.
If you have a shelf, you could do this project without the wood and clamp. Just apply the vinyl directly to the mason jar.

Don't have a digital cutter? You can order the vinyl decal from my Esty shop.

This is so cute! Finders keepers ;)
What a super fun idea! I love the fonts on the vinyl lettering. :)
how did you connect the clamp to the wood?
What a great idea! Ugh I need to make one of these because I always find SOMETHING while doing laundry... last week it was a green tea teabag, I was wondering why all the clothes smelled funny, and then I found it in the dryer!!!
What a great idea, and so pretty. I'm thinking I'll make one for loose purse change, right now we put it in an ugly dusty old vase.
I love the green/turquoise color, the whole idea is excellent, I would say this helps a lot in the laundry, very easy and very nice. Thank's for sharing.
Adorable. And functional too!
Super cute and I am LOVIN the color. I attach those mason jars tot he front of pallet shelves I make-I just adore the look. I would be super excited if you linked up over at my Anything Goes Link Party going on from 6 MST Friday till midnight Monday.

I love how you did this. I have seen check your pockets sign before, but not any as cute as this. Darling and totally do-able. I also love that I can purchase the cute vinyl straight from you for a great price! What a fun shower gift or wedding gift. Thanks so much for the inspiration. Pinning!
